Hi, I’m Katie
I’m a Creative Director, writer and a very hip and cool person. Over the past 12ish years I’ve worked on everything from giant broadcast campaigns, to print ads, to social posts for clients big and small. My work has been awarded at Cannes and the One Show, I’ve been featured in the Business Insider’s Most Creative Women in Advertising list, and my satirical essays have been published in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and in two of McSweeney’s anthology books.
Now that we’ve gotten through all of that boring work stuff, let’s talk about something much more interesting: my cow friend John Lewis. John, aka Louie, lives at The Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita California. He works as a therapy hugging cow (it’s a thing) and gives the best hugs of all time, sort of like hugging a puppy who just happens to weigh 900 lbs. And not to brag, but as it turns out, I’m a bit of a cow whisperer. Typically, Louie doesn’t hug back, but as you can see from the photo he made an exception for me. I was even featured on The Gentle Barn’s “top 10 hugs of 2021” instagram post, so I’m a bit of a celebrity in the bovine world. I can’t even walk by a pasture without at least one cow asking for an autograph.
