Screensavers are everywhere, living on the many different screens we stare at all day, every day. Nobody knows where these elusive screensavers come from, so for the past couple of years I’ve been on a mission to hunt them down. As it turns out, the habitats where screensavers are captured and placed into captivity with us are out in the wild, far away from all the wifi and existential dread of the screens that they save. At least until everything’s replaced with AI or whatever.
